What does ethanol and its blends have over bio-diesel?

How difficult would it be to create a conversion kit for car engines?

using alternative/renewable fuel sources?
I asked this question a few years ago when I first experimented with biodiesel and there are conversion kits for diesel engines but what about regular engines. It seems like it should be do-able since most gasoline contains a certain percentage of ethanol (as one example)
Has anyone considered this?
